About Us

The International Alliance for Electronic Payments (IAEP) is a non-profit organization open to economic policy institutions, consumers, consumer groups and small community lending institutions located in any country, and who directly serve these consumers. IAEP members share the goal of educating consumers and policymakers as to the consequences of regulating global electronic payment systems that move payments quickly and securely between millions of merchants and millions of consumers across the globe. The IAEP's goal is to protect the value, innovation, convenience and competition in today's growing electronic payments system and to make sure that consumers and their community institutions are not disadvantaged by regulations and laws that do not reflect the interconnected, interdependent nature of the cost sharing mechanisms that the world knows payments networks. The IAEP educates policymakers, consumers, and the media on the system's role in economic growth, and the importance of protecting consumer choice and stability for the continued growth of global commerce.

The most important part of the Alliance is the EU citizens who have signed the petition, sending a message to government leaders. The following policy institutions have also joined the Alliance, and more are expected soon as support continues to grow.

  • American Commitment
  • Americans for Tax Reform
  • Austrian Economic Center
  • Center for Individual Freedom

  • Frontiers of Freedom
